Tom Hardy and Steven Knight’s period drama Taboo is way back for a second series, with Hardy’s devil Delaney. Its first season was aired in January 2017.
For now, the release date of the series is not disclosed, although its co-producer has spoken about its hopes for a second season as its return depends on Hardy’s busy schedule as he is busy in shooting Venom 2.
Talking about the cast, then we can expect it will back with Tom Hardy’s James Delaney, Stephen Graham’s Atticus, Edward Hogg’s Michael, Mark Gatiss’ Prince Regent, and Scroobius Pip’s French Bill.
In an interview, John Landgraf, FX Productions chairman, said that “Steven is definitely game and we have what I think is a great idea for a second season, some of which has already been written but we just need the actor. We’re in active conversations.”
At the same time Steven knight, the writer told that “I’ve written the first six episodes, and there are two more to do, We had a hiatus obviously because Charlotte [Riley, Tom Hardy’s wife] had a baby, but then we’ll be back on it.” He is an interview in late 2019 said that he had written six episodes till then and working on finishing up that as fast as he can.
So what we expect from season two is that it is going to follow the events of series one, we will see James Delaney heading west to Ponta Delgada in the Azores, where he is looking to finally meet US intelligence agent Colonnade.
