Amazon Prime Video’s original fantasy series Carnival Row Season 2 will return despite key creative crew members leaving.
Amazon Prime Video is working hard to create its library or original content. They are making sure that their library has enough content for people of all ages. Amazon is banking heavily on its fantasy drama series Carnival Row. So much so, that season 2 was announced even before Season 1 was released.
What is Carnival Row about?
Carnival Row is a neo-noir fantasy drama web-series set in the Victorian era. Series follows Rycroft Philostrate (Orlando Bloom), a war-hardened detective who has been assigned to solve a series of mysterious murders in the City of Burgue.
Things become more convoluted when Philostrate runs into her old flame Vignette Stonemoss (Cara Delevinge), a faerie refugee. Citizens of Burgue are unhappy with the increasing number of faerie refugees.
Disdain for faerie refugees and mysterious murders led to a volatile atmosphere. The situation becomes so worse that a concentration camp was created been created in the City of Burgue. Philostrate discovers that he is a fae and joins his beloved Vignette in the concentration camp.
Cast and Crew
Apart from Orlando Bloom, Cara Delevinge star cast includes Simon McBurney, Indira Verma, Jared Harris, Tamzim Merchant, Andrew Gower, David Gyasi. Travis Beacham, one of the co-creator of the show, has confirmed that due to creative difference, he will not return for the second season of Carnival Row. Marc Guggenheim, the showrunner of the first season, has been replaced by Daredevil showrunner Erik Oleson.
Plot
The plot of the second season has not been revealed officially, but it can be guessed that the second season is most likely to focus on fae winning their freedom and tackle any new threat which may or may not occur.
Fans can expect to see the second season of the Carnival Row on the web streaming platform somewhere around the summer of 2021.
