Yuri On Ice Season 2: Story (Spoilers)
The story’s focus is on Yuri Katsuki who puts his career on hold after a heart-breaking loss in The Grand Prix Final. When he returns to his hometown he perfectly recreates an advanced routine which was done by his idol, Russian figure skating champion Victor Nikiforov.
This is secretly recorded by his friend who uploads it on the internet. Once Victor sees this, he travels to Yuri K.’s hometown to coach him and help revive his skating career. However, Victor forgets a promise he made to another skater by the name of Yuri Plisetsky.
Victor had promised to choreograph a routine for Yuri P. if he won the junior world championships. As a result, he makes the two Yuris compete against each other to see who he will coach. Yuri K. wins.
Both the Yuris vow to compete for their countries in The Grand Prix Final which they do. During the Grand Prix Final, Victor and Yuri K. get close and explore their feelings for each other. The final ends with Yuri K. taking home the silver medal and Yuri P. taking home the gold.
As a result, Yuri K. decides he doesn’t want his skating career to end. He moves to St. Petersburg to train with Yuri P. and Victor. Yuri On Ice Season 2 will most likely continue from this point on.
