With no access to movie theatres during our summer vacation, Netflix has poured in several wholesome contents throughout this period to keep us entertained. The Old Guard starring Charlize Theron came as a pleasant surprise that knocked us all off. The end credits of the movie have left the door open for its sequel The Old Guard 2.
It isn’t the first time for Charlize Theron to engage in Action movies, and definitely not the last. Although is placed right above the “average” slate with a 6.7 IMDb rating, the movie was applauded for its action sequences, with Theron being the star performer as always. The film was directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood and written by Greg Rucka, who also the wrote the comic book that goes by the same name.

It’s still pretty early to deduce if the creators of The Old Guard will be back for a sequel or not. The ending of the movie has definitely sparked rumors and our hopes for a possible sequel in the future. The comic book writer Rucka and its artist Leandro Fernández even took out the time to work on the sequel of the comic book titled “The Old Guard: Force Multiplied” during the movie’s production. This lights up another green signal for the sequel.
We will update you as soon as we hear anything about it.
The Old Guard 2 Release Date
Netflix released the first movie just a few months back on 10 July 2020. There is no news about the movie being serialized yet. It’s very early to say anything about a sequel despite the rumors. As of now, The Old Guard 2 is merely a figment of our imagination that we hope to see turn into reality in the future.

The Old Guard Storyline
This new take on superheroes revolves around ages-old legendary fierce immortal warriors with regenerative abilities. Their team is hired by Copley, a former CIA agent who wants them to save children who’ve been abducted in South Sudan. However, to their surprise, the mission was all along with a set-up by Copley to study their regeneration.
