Netflix’s original series Raising Dion is a production lookalike of Marvel or DC series. It expands the Superhero category of TV series and was inspired by the comic book and short film created by Dennis Liu in 2015. Netflix is gearing up for Raising Dion Season 2, but a lot of confusion has arisen around its premiere. Let’s gather all that we know about the upcoming season.
First thing’s first, let’s discuss if the show is worth giving a try. From the first glimpse itself, the plot of the show induces a sense of deja vu. Honestly, it isn’t anything surprising. The show follows a similar pattern as another Netflix original “Stranger Things” and most other superhero origin stories. Yet, we still end up liking it for what it is. We get an insight into the life of a single mother who’s having a tough time balancing everything while facing discrimination at the hands of public institutions. By doing so, the storyline lightly touches on issues revolving around one’s race and adds a bit of social commentary on the topic.

Raising Dion Season 2 Official Announcement
The announcement for the renewal of Raising Dion for a second season came on 2 January 2020. The show is indeed making its way back to Netflix soon! The show has a 7.2/10 rating on IMDb and became an instant hit among the audience.

Raising Dion Season 2 Release Date
A lot of puzzled fans mad their way to Twitter to express their dismay at how the second season wasn’t release on 4th or 5th of October 2020. The premiere date was shifted back due to the pandemic since the production process was affected to its outbreak. However, a new date is yet to be announced for the show’s comeback. The first season consisting of 9 episodes debuted on 4 October 2019, which led a lot of fans to the assumption that the show will be back exactly one year later. As we can see, the year is almost at its close and since we still don’t have any news on the matter, the show is most likely to return in 2021.

Raising Dion Storyline
After the mysterious death of Mark Warren, a scientist, Nicole Reese is left alone to raise their son Dion in an already unforgiving society. Her dilemma gets heightened when she discovers about her son’s magical super powers and now must protect him by keeping this secret from the world. She’s joined by her husband’s best friend Pat on this journey as she tries her best to keep up with her gruelling situation.
(Michael Jordan is one of the Executive Producers of the show and is also present as a recurring cast member, playing the role of Mark Warren.)
