The fifth and final season of “Cable Girls,” a Spanish period drama produced by Netflix, is scheduled for a February 14 release this year. Set in the first half of the 20th century, the story revolves around a group of girls who work in a telecommunications establishment; one of the themes of the show relates to the hardships faced by working women.
The series is one of the earliest productions from Spain to be featured on Netflix. It was first released on the platform in 2017.
According to a Spanish entertainment weekly called Diez Minutos, many of the cast will be returning for this final season. Returning members include Lidia Aguilar, Ana Fernández, Nadia de Santiago, and Ana Polvorosa.

The upcoming season will be split into two halves. The release date mentioned above pertains to the first half of the fifth season. There is no announcement as of now regarding the release of the season’s second half; it is likely to be available at some later point this year.
Season five will see the plot pick up several years after the tragic events of the fourth season. It will be set in the midst of the Spanish Civil War. According to Netflix, the characters in the upcoming season see that “[t]he Spain they knew is divided into two sides, and after years of struggle and progress towards equality, freedom is being lost in a Civil War that will change their destiny, as well as those of their families and those of the new characters that will appear to turn everything upside down.”
