The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina will have a fourth season. Back in December 2018, Netflix had renewed the show for seasons three and four.
Season four will feature eight episodes. Do note that although the upcoming release is referred to as the fourth season, the show’s structure is such that each season is divided into two blocks; the fourth season is actually the second part of season two. Expect a release in the latter part of this year.
Developed by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa for Netflix and based on the Archie comic book series of the same name, The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is a supernatural horror web series produced by Warner Bros.
Television in association with Berlanti Productions and Archie Comics. The premise is centered around the main character Sabrina (portrayed by Kiernan Shipka), who is a half-witch, half-mortal. Other cast members include Ross Lynch, Lucy Davis, Chance Perdomo, and Michelle Gomez, among others.
Up until now, Sabrina was torn between her loyalty to her mortal friends and her aim of becoming the Queen of Hell.
The finale of season three saw Sabrina coming up with a clever idea of traveling back in time to prevent the end of the world while meeting up with her past self, whom she convinces to become the Queen of Hell.
However, it is revealed that the ramifications of Sabrina’s actions could spell doom for the world; two versions of Sabrina existing simultaneously in a single time frame could cause a problematic time paradox. The upcoming season will probably continue playing with the concept of time travel.
If looking at the critical reception garnered by the series, it would appear that the show has been improving season upon season. With fans also loving it, The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina will be looking to spook viewers for many more years to come.
