About Darling in The Franxx Season 2
The first season of Darling in The Franxx, Japanese science fiction was a collaboration between Studio Trigger (Persona 5: The Animation) and CloverWorks (Kill la Kill). Even though it received mixed feedback – particularly over the finale – it was still a rating success and won several awards. Since the original series that won many hearts ended on a conclusive note, there have been speculations if Darling in The Franxx Season 2 will actually happen?
The Official Announcement
The Creators of the show haven’t made any official announcement regarding Darling in The Franxx Season 2 of the show. There has been no official confirmation that there will be a second season, but fans believe that season 2 will happen.

Darling in The Franxx Season 2 Release Date
Even if there is a possibility that the second season is being developed, due to continued silence from the producers it’s hard to predict its renewal status or release date.
However, we believe the release date can be expected in the summer of 2021.
The Plot Assumptions
Given how season 1 ended, it is possible that the renewed second season could be a spin-off storyline, prequel timeline or it could follow the outcome of Zero Two and Hiro’s battle with VIRM- who vowed that it would one day return and finish what they started. The plot could also be a fresh start with a new set of heroes and villains.
The Cast
Since there has been no official announcement or indication regarding the second season, there is no confirmation of cast members.
However, if the makers decide on the continuation of the previous plot, we can expect to hear these voices again:
- Hiro by Yûto Uemura
- Zero Two by Haruka Tomatsu
- Ichigo by Kana Ichinose
- Miku by Nanami Yamashita
- Kokoro by Saori Hayami
- Ikuno by Shizuka Ishigami
