Dororo Season 2 is an upcoming anime series set to release in 2021. Season 1 of the show aired from January 7, 2019, to June 24, 2019. Dororo Season 2 Plot
The story focuses on Hyakkimaru and Dororo. Hyakkimaru is the son of a greedy samurai lord named Daigo Kagemitsu. When Daigo’s land is dying, he makes a deal with 12 demons who help him save his land at a price. His first-born son will have no limbs, no nose, no eyes, no tears, and no skin, but he will still live. Hyakkimaru is that son.
Hyakkimaru must defeat the demons who took parts of him as a sacrifice. Defeating them allows him to restore parts of himself. On his journey, he meets Dororo, an orphan. They fight for survival together. The new season is expected to focus on Dororo instead of Hyakkimaru. Since there will need to be a whole new story because of no source material, this is very likely.
What could we expect from the Sequel?
Before we discuss Dororo Season 2, you need to know that this anime is actually a remake of one of the first anime of all time. The manga that Dororo is based on was published from August 9, 1967, to July 3, 1968, The original anime was also an adaptation of this manga.

People loved the story so much that it has been adapted in many different iterations since then. There was a video game based on the anime 2004 called ‘Blood Will Tell’. MAPPA decided to give the anime another shot and over 50 years later we got Dororo in 2019.
One thing that fans should note is that there is no more source material left. The original manga was very short-lived. As a result, if a second season will happen, the studio will have to create a whole new story.
Dororo Season 2 Release Date
There is no official release date for Season 2. There are a few possible reasons as to why there isn’t a release date yet. Firstly, Covid-19 caused disruptions all over the world and the anime studios were not an exception. So, we might not have heard anything because there are delays. Also, these studios are booked up well in advance so there is a good chance that MAPPA is really busy already and Dororo may be in the books for the future.
And secondly, there isn’t enough source material right now as a result of the manga being published in 1967. So, as of now, anything is possible and fans will just have to wait for an announcement to be made. It’s been over a year since the last episode aired but that doesn’t mean we won’t get a release date for Dororo Season 2. In the past, studios have been known to have delays between seasons. So, fingers crossed for a new season.

There is no official trailer for Dororo Season 2. When MAPPA does decide to create a new story as mentioned earlier, then we will see an announcement. As a result, we will get a trailer.
