Extraction, which is the roar of digital media nowadays, has already completed 90 million views through Netflix in just these 30 days. The movie, which is associated with the bigheads of Hollywood and Bollywood industry, is a blockbuster on the critical front, and commercially we have already witnessed the viewership.
One more thing that is proclaiming the success of the Chris Hemsworth starrer movie is the urge of viewers for the second installment. And this all seems to turn out well on the production side too as Netflix has already signed up with writer Joe Russo for a sequel though an announcement from Netflix is not here yet.
Russo informed that “We’re not committing yet to whether that story goes forward or backward in time. We left a big loose ending that leaves question marks for the audience.”
It’s really not a doubt that the first installment has left many loose strings on the way, which require at least one more sequel or prequel to fill up all this void.
Sam Hargrave, who directed Extraction and is expected in the second part too when interviewed with Digital Spy, stated that “We’re all going to wait to see how fans react to the film. And based on that, there have been discussions of different storylines that could take place at different times – both forward in time and backward in time.”
Notably, the team is all prepared for the scenario where Chris could deny for the sequel though this cannot be the case as he has already expressed his willingness to join the Extraction 2.
On 3rd May, he came up with an Instagram video to thank all viewers from the immense love. He said that “There’s] been a lot of talk and questions about sequels and prequels and all sorts of things and all I can say is, ‘Who knows?’ But with this kind of support, it’s something I’d be pretty stoked to jump back into.” He added, “We are blown away by the response and the support, so on behalf of myself, the Russo brothers, Netflix, our director Sam Hargrave, thank you so, so much. We love you, guys.”
