Fans are Extreme Excited for “Alita Battle Angel 2”. Release Date and Everything you need to know about it

Alita: Battle Angel was an American action film based on Japanese manga artist Yukito Kishiro’s 1990s series Gunnm and its 1993 original video animation adaptation Battle Angel. The movie was released on 8 February 2019 and was a huge success. And due to its success with the critics as well as the audience, a sequel was announced on 8 February 2019, much to the fan’s joy!

The story revolves around Alita, a battle cyborg, revived by Ido, a doctor who realizes that she actually has the soul of a teenager. Alita then sets out to learn about her past and finds her true identity. Nothing about the plot of the second movie has yet been revealed. Hence the possibility of a sequel or a prequel cannot be dropped. If the second part was supposedly a prequel to the initial part, we could expect the audience to see Alita’s life before she lost her memory.

Although the full cast has not yet been revealed, Rosa Salazar is expected to play the role of Alita once again. In a recent interview, she made sure to mention that she would play her role in the sequel and said she would play the role of Alita until she dies. Along with her, Christoph Waltz will play the role of Dr. Ido. The role of Nova will be performed by Edward Norton. And a new addition to the already present roster, Clive Lee is also going to come in the sequel according to what we have heard.

Neither an official release date for the movie nor for the trailer has yet been announced, but it’ll be a while before any of those are declared. According to Jon Landau, the producer of Alita’s storyline, it will take 12-18 months before a script is written, and a trailer is put out.

The creators of the movie aren’t in a rush to put out a second part immediately. According to the leading star Rosa Salazar, “The whole Disney/Fox acquisition is so involved, this isn’t the right time for me to call [Disney co-chairman] Alan Horn and be like, ‘Hey bro, I know you got a lotta stuff going on, but like what about Alita 2?”
If it’s not confirmed yet, it will be soon. And the fans can’t wait!
