Iran supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has referred US President Donald Trump as ‘a clown.’ He said this while addressing the masses during his Friday sermon (prayer) on Jan 17, 2020, in Tehran.

In his address, Iranian Supreme said that Donald Trump is “a clown” who only pretends to support the Iranian people but will “push a poisonous dagger” into their backs. He mentioned that the mass gathering shows the belief of Iranian people in the Islamic Republic.
Masses had bubbled up in anger upon the death of Soleimani. Also, there was an evident sadness due to the crash and death of people.
Parallel to a missile attack by Iran, a Ukranian plane carrying 176 people and flying to Kyiv (Kiev), crashed. It happened a few hours post its took-off from Imam Khomeini International Airport.
After this tragic crash, earlier assumption said that the US had an involvement in the plane crash. The later investigation had the Iranian government reveal that it happened due to technical glitch, and a missile had shot down the plane.
Khamenei called the crash as a “Bitter accident” during his speech. Also, resistance must continue to free the Nation from Emeny’s tyranny. He stated, “The fact that Iran has the power to give such a slap to a world power shows the hand of God.”
The world is yet to see how far this series of ping-pong physical and verbal attacks goes between the two Nations. Tensions started after the US withdrew its name from Iran’s nuclear deal in 2015. After these back to back accidents, incidents, and attacks, tensions have only increased.
