The Plot
Jujutsu Kaisen is set in a world where cursed spirits feed on unsuspecting humans. The biggest threat arrives in form of fragments of the legendary demon Ryomen Sukuna that are scattered around and lost for a long time. If any curse happens to consume these fragments, the power they will come to possess can destroy the world as we know it.
Yuji Itadori lives with his grandfather and is physically fit for a high school student. Despite his natural talents in sports, he avoids them at all costs. Instead, he joins the Occult Research Club and hangs out with his seniors. When his grandfather is on his death bed, Yuji promises to be surrounded by people when he comes to take his last breath.
One day after the death of his grandfather, he meets a sorcerer, Megumi Ishiguro. He informs him of a cursed talisman in his school that he came in contact with. His friends unsealed this talisman which attracted curses to his school. These curses are the creatures born of negative feelings and emotions and strengthen their powers through consuming magic from charms and sorcerers. To protect his friends and school, Yuji swallows this curse and becomes possessed by Sakuna who is evil by nature.
