The first version of Kenshi was released on 6 December 2018. It took nearly twelve years to create and develop this game. Ever since its success, a sequel of Kenshi has been under development.
For now, we can only anticipate the release of the game further since no official announcement has been made for Kenshi 2 release. Yet, a lot of sources are hoping for a 2021 release.
The Development Process
As we await more news on the Kenshi part, Steam gives out monthly updates on the game and how the team is managing work from home during the pandemic. The blog posts mention that a few more people have joined hands on deck for Kenshi 2.
The team is constantly in the process of eliminating bugs in Kenshi 2. Their team has welcomed new names like Victor Goossens as their new Technical Artist, Sarah Keates as their new Office Administrator, Mohammad Reazazadeh as their Lead 3D Artist, Craig Tinney as a Junior Programmer, and Calum Alexander Watt as one of the artists.
The Technical Advancements
The team’s new Technical Artist Victor Goossens has laid out an explanation of how they’re planning to improve the gaming experience,
“…The plan is for it[Kenshi Sequel] to be graphically above and beyond anything we could ever do in Ogre, and I’m here to make sure that we can actually pull that off… Kenshi 2’s new Time-of-Day system, and primarily, its clouds! Kenshi’s fully dynamic lighting and environment is a massive challenge to represent properly, and it means things like clouds just cannot be left static. Kenshi’s new clouds grow, move and morph over time – all without melting your graphics card! Next up is just about every other material in Kenshi…”
You can read more of Goossens’ detailed description on Steam. Lo-Fi Games has also released the “Pre-alpha footage: Time of day test” on YouTube that shows what Goossens has tried to explain above.
The Storyline of Kenshi 2
As mentioned before Kenshi is a role-playing game set in an apocalyptic world. It’s a single-player game in which players have to build their way up to higher levels. You can choose your own direction in the game.
With multiple locations on the map, the primary goal of the players is to survive in this action-driven adventure. Kenshi 2 will be filled with excitement and other features.
The Official English Trailer
