Fans became fiery and blasted a series of comments on social media after Evan Rachel Woods gave controversial feedback for the late 41-year-old NBA star Kobe Bryant. Evan wrote a tweet in which she called Kobe Bryant a rapist and said that it was true, although the case against him in 2003 was solved, and Bryant was never convicted of rape.
Just a few days ago, the NBA star tragically died after a helicopter crash alongside his 13-year-old daughter. Many celebrities and stars paid their respect to the late basketball star and his family. A few days after the news reached Evan Rachel Woods, she tweeted, ” What has happened is tragic. I am heartbroken for Kobe’s family. He was a sports hero. He was also a rapist. And all of these truths can exist simultaneously.”
Rachel’s tweet many NBA fans and Westworld fans furious at her, and some of them said that her statement was racially motivated and was a very displeasing statement that she gave.
The case that Rachel was talking about a 2003 incident when a 19-year-old girl claimed that she and Kobe Bryant (then 24) were usually kissing and then suddenly Kobe started to grope her and choke her, not violently but strong enough to make her feel scared.
In 2004 the case was to be taken to court, but Kobe and the girl solved the matter privately, and the accuser withdrew her evidence. Henceforth, there were no indications or signs to prove that Kobe raped the girl.
Evan Rachel Wood, put a strong accusation on Kobe Bryant, without any proof or substantial evidence. The statement was only a byproduct of rumor and a false bias.
As of now, Rachel has not apologized for her statement and not responded to the criticizing comments that she has received on her Twitter profile.
