Dead to Me is an American web television series on Netflix. It is a black comedy-drama that released in 2019 and starred Christina Applegate and Linda Cardellini as the two main leads. The show follows Jen Harding and Judy Hale, who develop a close bond while in therapy. Jen has lost her husband in a hit-and-run. Judy grieves her fiance, who died of a heart attack. In a twist of fate, Jen and Judy are more connected by their pasts than either of them realize. Jen is spiraling down and reaches a dark place when she discovers the truth behind her husband’s death.
Actor James Marsden plays Judy’s ex-fiance Steve Wood. Sam McCarthy and Luke Roessler star as Jen’s sons- Charlie and Henry. Max Jenkins joins the cast as Jen’s business partner and best friend Christopher Doyle.
Liz Feldman is the creator as well as the Executive Producer along with Will Ferrell, Adam McKay and Jessica Elbaum joining the team of Executive producers. Christina Applegate received a nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series at the 71st Primetime Emmy Awards.
What to Expect with Dead To Me Season 2?
Because of the show receiving praise, Netflix renewed the show for a second season slated to release on 8th May 2020. Netflix released a new trailer for the second season on 24th April.
After the bloody conclusion of the first season finale, Jen and Judy are struggling to keep things from falling apart. The synopsis released by Netflix says,
“Picking up in the aftermath of that bloody backyard reveal, the irrepressible pair once again struggles to keep their secrets buried…Detective Perez hot on their heels, Jen and Judy, take drastic measures to protect their loved ones and each other- no matter what the cost.”
