Search Party is an American dark satirical comedy-thriller television series. Created by Sarah Violet Bliss, Charles Rogers, and Michael Showalter, it was first aired in 2016 on TBS for two seasons and later picked up by HBO max. This show changed its tone and genres in each season. Characterized as a mystery for season 1, psychological thriller for Search Party Season 4, and legal drama for season 3, all in all, an engaging drama series.

Search Party Season 4 was filmed between December 2019 and February 2020. It is scheduled to be released by HBO max in January 2021.

The Plot
Search Party familiarizes us with the lives of privileged friends and acquaintances, Dory Sief, her boyfriend Drew Gardener, her ex-boyfriend Julian Marcus who is a journalist, actress Portia Davenport, and Elliott Goss.
Season one deals with the disappearance of a college associate Chantal Winterbottom. Dory sets out on the mission to find her with Drew, Portia, and Elliot warily joining her fact-finding probe. While Dory pursues the ebbing away of the girl, she also becomes convinced that Chantal is in danger. Her friends too deal with their own problems and lives.
Season two deals with the death of a private investigator, Keith Powell. His death is a result of Dory mistakenly believing him to be a threat to Chantal’s life. The group attempts at the cover-up of Keith’s death while also attempting to return to their normal lives. These events affect them psychologically.
In season three, we learn that Dory is caught. The focus shifts to Drew and Dory being tried for the murder of Keith. Even though the evidence is compelling against her, she denies any involvement what so ever. The trial catches the attention of media and the group is caught in the public eye. Dory starts to slowly lose her sanity. Relationships and friendships are tested. The courtroom drama narrative was actually inspired by the real-life trial of Amanda Knox. She was wrongfully convicted of murder in 2007
All three seasons received positive reviews from the critics and the audience.
