Sherlock Holmes 3 release date is announced by the makers. The Sherlock Holmes series is based on the novel named the same written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

Sherlock Holmes 3 is expected to be released on 22 December 2021. Warner Bros. was initially planning to release the third installment in December 2020 but the pandemic pushed the movie by a year. Going by the current situation it seems a good decision to release the movie once the pandemic ends. The first installment of Sherlock Holmes hit the theatres in 2009. Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, which is the sequel of the period action mystery film was released in 2011.

Sherlock Holmes 3 will see Robert Downey Jr and Jude Law in the lead roles. The rest of the cast is yet to be finalized.

The Plot

Lord Henry Blackwood played by  Mark Strong, was the mystical would-be world dominator in the first installment. Holmes and Watson battled against him. While the second film brought Professor James Moriarty, Sherlock’s arch-nemesis. Jared Harris played Professor Moriarty. We can assume that Moriarty would make a comeback in the third part.

The Storyline

The legendary detective, Holmes and his partner, Dr. Watson find themselves busy when a string of brutal murders scare London. They don’t take long to find the murderer, Lord Blackwood. He is a loyal devotee of the dark arts and he tries every trick of the trade to plunge Holmes and Law into the world of the occult.

The evidence seems to point to suicide when Austria’s crown prince is found dead. However, the genius detective Sherlock Holmes finds out that it was a brutal murder designed by evil Moriarty. Holmes, Law, and a Gypsy chase Moriarty across Europe to thwart the plan Moriarty before it can come to fruition.
