The Introduction of The World Of The Married Season 2
The World of the Married is the highest-rated Korean drama. Translating to “A Couple’s World” in Korean, The World of The Married revolves around the betrayal amongst a couple that leads to a series of guilt, grief, empathy, sympathy followed by mutual healing. Based on the TV Series Doctor Foster originally written by Mike Bartlett, this was first aired on BBC. Later, it went on to be aired by the JTBC, South Korea’s popular broadcasting company’s channel on Fridays and Saturdays from March to May. Will The World Of The Married Season 2 come soon?
The Backdrop
The story has one main plot that lets the various incidents unravel. A happily married family of a medical doctor Sun Woo and a film director Tae Oh hits rock bottom. The doting mother of their teenage son finds out the infidelity being observed by the husband, she breaks. The mother is a character completely devoted to the well-being of the family. Obviously, the infidelity doesn’t seem to go down well with the dedicated mother and wife. She heads for a divorce. Joon Young, the teenage son, played by Jeon Jin-seo doesn’t have anywhere to go in the middle of his parents’ broken marriage. He stays with the father, however.
Whether the family comes together once again and is Joon Young able to come out of the trauma post his parents split is all too enticing to watch.
Release Date of The World Of The Married Season 2
Season 1 was already on air in March till May in 2020. The plan to let out a season 2, however, seems bleak. To say the least, even when the ending looks more like an open ending, it is difficult to predict anything yet. From what the cast said in the interviews, it appears that Season 1 was pretty much what the makers want people to have for now. Maybe, the amount of attention that The World of the Married could garner this season help the makers decide better.
It has the highest viewership in March and April. These two months happen to be the same months that COVID-19 struck the world, is another story altogether. It could be a coincidence too.
The Main Cast
The World of the Married Season 2 has Kim Hee-ae who plays the focused doctor and a dedicated family woman Ji Sun-woo. Park Hae-joon plays the part of the single-minded film director’s husband Lee Tae-oh. Jeon Jin-seo efficiently plays the teenage son who is confused and filled with trauma for most of the show.
