The World Trigger Season 2 anime has officially been announced during Jump Festa 2020. The announcement also included a new preview trailer and key visuals. However, no official date has come out. This season will be produced by Toei Animation.
The original cast will be retained with Tomo Muranaka as Yuma Kuga, Yuuki Kaji, as Osamu Mikumo, Nao Tamara as Chika Amatori, Yuichi Nakamura as Yuichi Jin and Nobunaga Shimazaki as Hyuse. There is, however, some speculation about the length of this season.
The delay in season 2 is due to the poor health of World Trigger writer Daisuke Ashihara. He suffered from cervical spondylosis and intestinal issues resulting from a gall bladder removal.
In November of 2016, Ashihara announced his health was deteriorating, and the manga went into indefinite hiatus. The anime adaptation of the series ended soon after. With the manga being the only source material, the anime ended with a rushed conclusion.
With the improvements in the health conditions of the author of the World Trigger manga series, new hope has emerged for the fans of the series.
Many have lost their faith in the series and had accepted that WorTri would make it to its end. But now it is very sure the WorTri will resume, although at a slower pace.
