Top Gun is an American Action – Thriller that was released in 1986. Don Simpson and Jerry Bruckheimer released the film in association with Paramount. The film’s director was Tony Scott and starred Tom Cruise, Val Kilmer, and Kelly McGillis. According to IMDB, the film’s plot revolves around students at the United States Navy’s elite fighter weapons school who compete to be best in their class. One such young pilot approaches a civilian instructor to learn things that aren’t taught in the classroom.
Critics praised Top Gun for its action sequences, the effects, and the actor’s performances. It also received an Academy Award Nomination for the Best Original Song for Berlin’s Take My Breath Away. In 2015, The US Library of Congress selected the film to preserve at the National Film Registry.
Top Gun 2: All Deets
Yes. The wait for Top Gun 2, the sequel to the legendary Top Gun is finally over. The sequel will be called Top Gun: Maverick. The development for the sequel began way back in 2010 and the film was announced officially in June 2017.
Originally, the film was scheduled for release on July 12, 2019, but this was postponed to June 26, 2020, in August 2018. Then about a month ago, on March 2, 2020, the producers moved the film’s release up by 2 days, to June 24, 2020.
So, now the question is, will the film be released then?
Unfortunately, the answer is no. Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, the film has been pushed back further. It will not be releasing on December 23, 2020.
Top Gun 2: Cast
Tom Cruise and Val Kilmer will be reprising their roles in the film. Other confirmed cast members include Miles Teller, Jon Hamm, Glen Powell, Lewis Pullman and, Manny Jacinto.
