We come as bearers of good news for Vinland Saga fans. The anime show, which was on the verge of being canceled initially, has now been officially renewed to Vinland Saga Season 2.
Vinland Saga is a historical anime show, which is adapted from the manga series of the same name, by Makoto Yukimura. It is based on genres like adventure and historical fiction. The first season of Vinland Saga was released on July 7, 2019, and comprised of 24 episodes. The show got immensely popular and was widely appreciated by fans and critics equally.

What is the plot of Vinland Saga?
The show is set in 11th century England and features the Vikings. The story revolves around a Thorfinn, who is all set to avenge the death of his father. The show gives us an insight into the life Thorfinn, whose mind is a conflict and has to choose between the present and the past, as he pursues a journey with the killer of his father. Subsequently, we also get to see the expansion of King Cnut the Great’s empire, as he rises to power.

- Thorniff: He is the main character of Vinland Saga and a young child, son of great warrior Thor. He vows to take revenge from Viking commander Askeladd for his father’s death.
- Askeladd: The commander of a group of Vikings, Askeladd is a great swordsman and strategist. He killed the Thorniff’s father Thor who was a great warrior too.
- Thors: He was the father of Thorniff. He was the great Viking warrior in the first season.
- Canute: He is the son of King Sweyn. He is one of the weakest in the season.
- Thorkell: He is a giant man.
- Willibald: The Preist.
- Ragnar: He was the guardian of Prince Canute of England.
- Floki: Floki is a commander of the Jomsviking.
- Leif Ericson: Leif was a friend of great warrior Thors. After his death, he looks upon his friend Thor’s son Thorniff.
END OF THE SEASON 1 AND THE SEASON 2 ASSUMPTIONS –
In the end episode of Vinland Saga, Askeladd dies in Thorfinn’s arms, making him look over the battlefield. It makes him think about what is “true warrior” and also that he could not achieve it. He could not bear that his life being wasted trying to escape his past and also he couldn’t overcome his hatred. Askeladd when dying in the arms of Thorniff said: “You are Thor, son, Go “.
And the seasons end so it makes suspense that what Thorfinn do now to overcome hatred and what next he do to live up life and will he follow the last words of Askeladd. After the announcement of season 2, people get more excited after the sorrowful dramatic end which also shows the other side of Askeladd his good side.
PLOT OF THE SEASON 2 –
The fans are excited for the next season’s second and waiting after the dramatic end of season 1. The officials haven’t announced it yet but the director Shuuhei Yabuta through a tweet that season 2 going to happen in 2021. Since September 2020 it is officially announced. But there are no plot hints are told by the makers yet. But, surely, stories will continue from where they left, Thorniff will have to look forward and go far to find Vinland and overcome what has deeply hidden negativity inside.
RELEASE DATE FOR THE SEASON 2 –
There are no updates for the Vinland Saga Season 2 releasing date, Makers said Vinland Saga Season 2 will be going to happen in 2021 and. In March 2021, series character designer, Abiru Takahiko, hinted through a tweet that he was working on Vinland Saga. Also, director Shuuhei Yabuta tweeted – “there will be small easter for fans” which gives the hint that they are referring to season 2. Trailer is also not out yet but we don’t have to wait much . Unfortunately, the makers of Vinland Saga Season 2 have yet not confirmed official release date, our guesses are, that it will release by the mid of 2021.
The show’s release has been delayed because of the ongoing pandemic situation.

Since the makers of Vinland Saga Season 2 have been tightly lipped about it and no teaser of the show has been released yet, it is hard to tell what season 2 will be about.
