Carnival row is an amazon prime original series with an urban fantasy neo-noir theme. Season 1 of the series premiered on 30th August 2019. Fans are Waiting for Carnival Row Season 2!
The story is set on the backdrop of a world where faeries and humans co-exist. Faeries(who are feared by humans) are forbidden to live, love, or fly with freedom. But then, a human detective and a faerie fall in love while investigating a string of murders.
Carnival Row Season 2: Release Date
Netflix renewed Carnival row for season 2 in July 2019. The production of season 2 started in November 2019. But much to our dismay, the covid-19 pandemic caused the production to halt in March 2020. The production restarted in may and therefore you can expect season 2 in 2021.
Most probably, season 2 will grace the screens sometime in August 2021 because that was the month in which season 1 was released.
The Plot
At the end of the first season, we saw that half-human and half-faerie, Philo had joined Vignette. Philo also found out that the chancellor was his father.
For Carnival Row Season 2, the producers might give us a long-awaited back story and also reasons for why Philo gave up his badge (which according to sources might be because of the vignette). Also, a battle seems to be unavoidable, where the faeries want liberation. As for the minute details, faerie will fight against the alliance of Jonah Breakspear and Sophie Longerbane.
Expectations
Carnival row may be a bit predictable at times, but it possesses artistic reflections of wonderful value. The take on the world of the faerie is more true to the dark mythos of Samhain lore than most modern portrayals allow. This show also brings this story to life alongside a Holmes styled London aspect
There are touches of familiarity in the presented world. It blends so much folktale that viewers were left awestruck. From Lovecraft to Celtic tales and even Greek Mythology, many different worlds collide herein.
