The anime adaptation of the series Citrus was directed by Takeo Takahashi and is affiliated with Passione studios. It’s based on a manga series created by Saburouta. The first season of the show had 12 episodes and ran from January to March 2018. The whereabouts of Citrus Season 2 are still unknown. Let’s gather what we know.
The series has its highs and lows. The Citrus manga earned praise, not 1 but 5 times after being one of The New York Times Bestsellers in the manga category in 2015. The two main characters Yuzu and Mei, have very distinct personalities in this yuri series. However, the problematic aspect arises when consent is not respected. This is one of the major fallouts of the series that has rendered it hard to watch.

Citrus Season 2 Official Announcement
The show hasn’t been renewed for a second season, and it almost seems like its studio has forgotten it. No updates have surfaced in all this time about a possible sequel. Everything has been very silent on the matter. The fans are waiting for more, but it seems less likely that we’ll be getting Citrus Season 2 any soon.
Citrus Season 2 Release Date
The first episode of Citrus Season 1 was aired on 6 January 2018 and the last one on 24 March 2018. Looking at the pattern observed over the years, most animes don’t acquire a release date for another season so soon. It takes at least 3 years in most cases for Citrus Season 2 to be confirmed. The lack of confirmation on this topic has left me with no option other than to wait patiently to hear more on this subject.

The Storyline
After her mother’s second marriage, Yuzu Aihara moves to a new home and high school. Her new all-girls school comes as a disconcerting change in her life. Her life gets entangled with that of the student council president, Mei Ahara. As it is soon revealed, Mei is also Yuzu’s stepsister, and as they get to know each other better, Yuzu starts falling for Mei. Citrus Season 2 Will continue on this?
