Locke & Key is a supernatural horror drama web television series. The series sees three siblings move into a house with plenty of magic and secrets hidden inside. Season one consisted of 10 episodes, which all dropped on Netflix globally on February 7th, 2020. You can watch it here. At first, the series was intended for Fox and Hulu. But, Netflix finally produced it. It took 12 years for it to transition from a script to a series. Will we Have Locke & Key Season 2?
Locke & Key Season 2 Release Date
After a month of releasing the first season, Netflix renewed Locke & Key in March 2020. But due to the coronavirus pandemic, the production came to a standstill.
But then, production and filming resumed on September 19th, with strict health guidelines. We could expect Season 2 somewhere around July 2021 or later.
The Cast
The majority of cast members from season one are expected to return, including:
- Jackson Robert Scott as Bode Locke
- Connor Jessup as Tyler Locke
- Emilia Jones as Kinsey Locke
- Sherri Saum as Ellie Whedon
- Griffin Gluck as Gabe
- Darby Stanchfield as Nina Locke
- Laysla De Oliveira as Dodge
The Plot
The series concludes with the siblings entering the most dangerous door yet and finishes with the siblings being the keeper of all the keys.
However, evil is still lurking as Dodge seemingly gets away with giving the appearance that she died (or at least was knocked out cold) in the final climactic battle. The omega key is safe but the Crown of Shadows is still missing. Also, Ellie, Rufus’s mother, is missing.
Speaking to THR, Meredith Averill ( co-creator of the show ) said, “Things are not ideal at the start of season two. That’s how one should want it [as a storyteller]. Dodge has turned out to be even more formidable than they could have imagined.”
“But by the same time, across the first season, our kids have come to learn that they are the new keepers of the keys and that they have the responsibility that goes with that. Both sides have stepped up their game for what’s going to happen in season two.”
