The cancellation of Treadstone marks a new dawn for the USA NETWORK. It is slowly but steadily shifting from scripted programs to live and unscripted programs ( WWE RAW).

Treadstone’s premiere episode attracted 645,000 live viewers and had pulled in a total of 1.84 million through delayed viewing by the following week. However, ratings had declined to 371,000 live viewers by the season finale. Also, critics gave mixed reviews to the show. Thus leading to its cancellation.

We might have even seen the origins of the CIA’s Treadstone program, which was made in response to the KGB program Cicada. Also, it looked like Ellen Becker (Michelle Forbes) was hellbent to take over Treadstone and its assets.

Treadstone’s season 1 finale was spent setting things up for season 2 rather than wrapping up plot threads. So it’s very unfortunate for fans that the story will end there.
