All good things must come to an end and so is the Shameless series. The American remake of the British series first aired in 2011. It ran for 10 seasons and now is coming to an end with its last season. The British show also had 11 seasons. So we hope to have a Shameless Season 11!
The dysfunctional family drama revolves around the Gallagher family. In the last season, we saw Mickey Milkovich and Ian Gallagher’s wedding. A lot of drama is on the way for this couple Also, we will be seeing another marriage.
Shameless Season 11: Release Date
The season is all set to release on 6th December. Fans are ecstatic and so are we. Though we will, for sure, miss Emmy Rossum as one of the ostensible lead characters, Fiona Gallagher. But still we look ahead to a exciting concluding season.
The Story
Showtime has given us an official synopsis of Shameless Season 11
“The final season of Shameless finds the Gallagher family and the South Side at a crossroads, with changes caused by the COVID pandemic, gentrification and aging to reconcile. As Frank confronts his own mortality and family ties in his alcoholic and drug induced twilight years, Lip struggles with the prospect of becoming the family’s new patriarch. Newlyweds Ian and Mickey are figuring out the rules and responsibilities of being in a committed relationship while Deb embraces her individuality and single motherhood. Carl finds an unlikely new career in law enforcement and Kevin and V struggle to decide whether a hard life on the South Side is worth fighting for.”
Also, we saw the engagement of Kev and V in the last episode. So, we will see another wedding in the concluding season. Also, how Kev will get an official divorce from his ex will be a treat to watch.
The Trailer
Showtime probably didn’t get the time to shoot a full fledged trailer. Or maybe they don’t want to spoil the fun for the last season. Anyways, we have an official trailer with all the characters explaining what to expect in the last season.
The Production
Because of the covid-19 induced lockdown, production got postponed. Shameless was about to begin filming in March when the coronavirus pandemic struck.
Actress Emma Kenney, who plays Debbie, shared this on Instagram on March 18.
“We were supposed to start production on our 11th and final season today, but unfortunately/fortunately, we have been shut down indefinitely until this health crisis is over”
