Fans loved the Venom movie released back in 2018. Venom movie series is a spin-off from the hit Spiderman franchise. Sony Pictures stopped making spiderman movies when it entered into a deal with Disney.
The deal allowed Disney to introduce Spiderman in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Sony Pictures decided to make a Venom Movie because Venom is another character from Spiderman Comics, which fans loved.
Venom (2018)
Sony’s gamble paid off. Venom starring Eddy Brock was an instant success on the box-office, and fans loved the movie. Building on the success of the Venom, the Production House has decided to roll out the sequel of Venom.
In the first film, Eddie Brock, portrayed by Tom Hardy teams up with alien symbiote Venom to stop an invasion of alien symbiotes on Earth.
The cast of Venom 2
Tom Hardy is returning as the main protagonist of the movie, along with Michelle Williams as Anne Weying. Woody Harrelson will join the cast as Carnage. The post-credit scene of the first movie hinted that Carnage might be the central villain of the sequel.
Moreover, Noami Harris has been roped in and is rumored to play Carnage’s sidekick, Shriek. Furthermore, Stephen Graham is also part of the cast, but his role has not been revealed yet.
Is Tom Holland in Venom 2?
In addition to that, rumors suggest that Tom Holland will make a guest appearance. Whether as Spiderman or Peter Parker, we do not know. Actor turned director Andy Serkis will direct the film.
Serkis is selected because he has plenty of experience with motion capture and animation techniques. Furthermore, Oscar-winning Cinematographer Robert Richardson will join Serkis. This move indicates that the sequel will be a visual treat for the viewers.
Venom 2 release date
While the official release date of the movie is yet to be announced, it can be calculated with some accuracy that Venom will come swinging in the theatres on 2nd October 2020.
